Service
- Didgeridoo Care -
Would you like to oil (impregnate) your didgeridoo inside or outside? PRODIDGERIDOO will gladly take over this service for you. After two to three days (depending on the effort) your didgeridoo is ready for collection and protected again against moisture, saliva, etc..
Why should the indoor didgeridoo be oiled once or twice a year (optimally in spring and autumn)?
The inner wood swells during play due to warm respiratory moisture and saliva. The condensation on the cool wall causes soaking of the inside. Since the wood only gets wet on one side, stresses are created. The differences in tension between dry and wet parts could lead to the formation of cracks. A good oiling will last between one to two years, depending on how often the didgeridoo is played, and will also improve the sound of the didgeridoo in the long run.

Tips for care and storage of didgeridoos
- During the winter period, store this natural instrument in a room with relatively high humidity (at least 55% relative humidity).
- Eucalyptus wood is sensitive to large temperature fluctuations and damage can occur.
- If possible, transport the instrument well packed in a carrying bag.
- Avoid leaving the instrument in direct sunlight. Do not leave the didgeridoo outdoors, as well as in the car on hot days.
- The transition periods in spring and autumn are particularly delicate, due to room heating. Please never store your instrument on a heated floor or next to a radiator.
Important to note: Eucalyptus (tropical wood) is much more sensitive to climate changes than most native woods. These measures should significantly reduce the possible occurrence of cracks on the instrument!
Careful: Linseed oil finis is selfigniting! It is essential to store the oily kitchen paper or oily cloth with water and airtight (plastic bag) and dispose of it properly. NEVER throw directly into the trash or garbage can!

What to look for when buying a didgeridoo!
- Pay attention to a good sound quality! If you want to buy a didgeridoo, you should convince yourself of the quality of the sound. Most didgeridoos for beginners have a conical course, so that a full sound can be achieved. It is best to visit a music store or didgeridoo dealer to try out different didgeridoos.
- For wooden didgeridoos, you should check the manufacturing quality. The wood should be well treated and have no fine cracks or fractures. The outer sealant should be sufficiently thick as a protective layer.
- The length of the didgeridoo is very important, especially for beginners. A didgeridoo for beginners should generally be between 120 and 150 cm long. These lengths are very suitable for learning circular breathing, which sometimes causes difficulties for beginners. A longer or even shorter didgeridoo usually needs more air to be played satisfactorily and is therefore only recommended for advanced players.
- You should only purchase a didgeridoo made of eucalyptus if you know exactly that you want to play the instrument for a long time. Because these instruments are more expensive to buy, but they also have an exceptionally beautiful sound and have a long life.
